“Emergent”

I’ve never been sure about the term “emerging” for describing early-career artists.  “Emerging” makes me think of buds on plants, maybe, but also of ghouls emerging from the gloom or muck; or even of emergency rooms.  And also a little of pimples.

Come to think of it, all of these apply to me… never mind! I’m emerging!
